Steve Caballero at Montague via Instagram

I posted this photo to my Instagram a while back and the response was pretty awesome, so it inspired me, at least a little, to get off my butt and organize some more Montague photos. That place was pretty epic and important to skateboarding in the south bay area. I'm still working on gathering more, but following the tag Montague will get you to a bunch more photos of the spot, with more to come this week.

Neil by O

Without being too nostalgic, I've been enjoying some great moments from skateboarding's past recently, really trying to make sense of the skateboarding culture and why it means so much to me. It's what happens when we look for work, I suppose. Hard to imagine not working in skateboarding, but hard to find a job I want to do.
This photo by O. was taken in the late eighties at the Suzuki Banks in Los Angeles. They were hard to skate, and this shot is amazing... Anyway, this shot led me to listen to Neil, Hagop, and Eddie's band Worked World, which I've listened to periodically over the last 20 years. I posted a song in Noise, check it out.

As we gear up for Wild in the Streets 2012, it's nice to look back at the mass of people who skated last year in Los Angeles. Fun stuff. Hope to see you in __________ this year on June 21!
